Born and raised in a creative home north of Atlanta, GA (USA), my family and I are constantly trying to figure out how to serve God by doing what we love- making things. It always comes out of us a little differently, but when it happens- when creating something and pleasing our Lord Jesus becomes inseperable- it is a humbling and satisfiying thing. Traveling with a beautiful Artslink team to North Africa in 2006 was a huge stepping stone for me in understanding that the Kingdom's work can been done in countless ways and by all kinds of believers, including by means of visual arts and by the hands of painters and sculptors and photographers... It truly is a crazy thought that God loves what we make for Him, as a good Father does, and that the things we make could have greater purpose than we purposed for it ourselves.
For instance, in a large city in Western Asia (another Artslink trip), I witnessed a young man stop to think on a bench overlooking the water, appearing quite upset. Meanwhile our team had been drawing a chalk river of everlasting life by the docks, quoting Scripture, "Come all who thirsty" in seven languages between us all. Turns out, that young man was a parched land seeking the true God, and only by His grace and the Holy Spirit, our simple, scribbles became a message of hope.
Now, having graduated from Palm Beach Atlantic University with a Biblical Studies/Studio Art Degree, I am working as a Display Artist (at the Paisely Farmhouse in Milton, GA) while learning how to love and serve Jesus with my art in the states as well as overseas.
